Membership

What does membership entail?

Although we sing as two separate choirs to fulfil Sunday services in both churches, we often sing for special services as one combined choir, and encourage a feeling of unity within 'the parish choir'. Most people belong to one church or the other, but a certain ‘fluidity’ is encouraged to help each other out during absences due to illness, school holidays and the like.

Some members are not able to commit themselves on a weekly basis, and join us for our monthly choral evensong and other special services.

Children can join the youth choir whenever they wish. If they join the main choir, they sing as choristers until the age of 15 or 16, (boys when their voice breaks), and they are encouraged to stay with us singing as an adult (boys becoming alto, tenor or bass as their voice deepens).
